One track one hour long, Ashley Beedle is signed to Out Hear Audio..
I am so lucky to have this! Ashley Beedle is one of the UK's most prolific producers and remixers, and I love him! He was born in quaint Hemel Hempstead, which makes his musical life history even more unbelievable.
He’s been in the music business for way too long, starting off as a Ballistic Brother, a remix outfit that split up in 1998.
Beedle had a hand steadying a solo career, releasing the odd single under his Afro Art, Black Science Orchestra and Black Jazz Chronicles monikers.
He put together the Grass Roots compilation for Strut in 1999. It saw a range of music influences, which is strongly present in this single. From jazz to hip hop, from dance/disco to reggae, this 2005 Master mix is truly breathtaking!
He has had airplay on Xfm and Radio 1 for this, but I don’t know how because this track is 53:09 minutes long. This should be released in time for the summer, because it has such a dance feel to it.
It begins really gentle with the minimalist of drum samples, then 10 minutes in you’re beginning to clap along to a samba sound that has your whole body moving to his crazy beats. There are loads of interludes that just sound so right, a lot of vocal sample ties in are used; like UK’s Sharlene Hector (towards the end, I swear he’s used Rolling Stone Jagger)!
If Ashley Beedle was a super hero, he’d have super-sampling powers. (You imagine what kind of super hero would need to use those powers) but somehow he makes you think that mixing to this intrinsic quality is so simple that you could D.I.Y. using Reason or Logic (music creation software) in minutes.
Everything flows just together; he has an amazing gift, its world music chill-out but on a sophisticated level.
