Marina And The Diamonds - Oh No!

Welsh sweetheart Marina And The Diamonds has just unveiled her new video for next single 'Oh No!'. This will be the fourth major release from her brilliant and successful debut album 'The Family Jewels'.

The video was shadowed and uploaded by Vogue.co.uk last week who interviewed Marina about the release and included behind the scenes footage of the shoot.

The video depicts Marina in a variety of scenarios and the main message of both the song and video is consumerism. Money, media and too much food are the messages of the video and the song is fuelled by self-doubt, confidence and self-deprication. Some of the lyrics include

'Don't do Love
Don't do friends
I'm only after success'

But this is countered by Marina's attitude and persistance against this lifestyle with the chirpy and energetic chorus declaring

'I know exactly what I want and who I want to be
I know exactly why I walk and talk like a machine
I'm now becoming my own self-fulfilled prophecy
Oh, Oh No! Oh No! Oh No! Oh Noo!'

Famed director Kinga Burza was brought on board for the project and has done videos for the likes of Kate Nash, Katy Perry, Ladyhawke, La Roux, Will Young and Marina's 'Hollywood'.

The video has lots of pop art influences and zany MTV graphics from the 90's, it's also really colourful with lots of bubblegum neons and bright pastels. Oh No! is one of the best tracks on the album and is sure to set fire to the charts when released on August 2nd.
