Conor J O'Brien of Villagers fame was today nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in the category "Best Song Musically and Lyrically" for the frankly bloody fantastic "Becoming A Jackal". Also nominated in the same category is Everything Everything for their single "MY MZ, UR BF", as well as a nomination in "The Album Award" category for Man Alive.
Villagers also today released the video for their new single "The Pact (I'll Be Your Fever)" - and blimey, it's delightful. Extremely catchy, extremely summery, extremely heartfelt. The video, shot entirely in black & white, tempers the song beautifully with the shallowest depth of field you'll see for some time. Cracker of a release, this.
The Ivor Novello Awards ceremony takes place in London on 19th May, and the Villagers single "The Pact (I'll Be Your Fever)" is released 23rd May.
